Professor Mirjana Kujundžić Tiljak is director of the Andrija Štampar School of Public Health, University of Zagreb School of Medicine and Head of Chair of Medical Statistics, Epidemiology and Medical Informatics. She was holding several public responsibilities including the position of the deputy chief officer of the cabinet of the President of Republic. Her research interests comprise a different area of public health including the research project in the area of epidemiology and biostatistics with a particular focus on clinical characteristics at presentation of type 1 diabetes mellitus in children, habits, behavior and psychosocial aspects as risk factors of overweight and obesity in children and adolescents and the effects of inbreeding, endogamy, genetic admixture and outbreeding on human health. She is also involved, as a core research team member responsible for the biostatistics in the international project "Varenicline versus Cytisine for Smoking Cessation in the Primary Care Setting in Croatia and Slovenia - A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial" (2018-2021)
